Joy Adler is an accomplished holistic health, healing, and wellness leader with over three decades of experience. She founded Alternative Healing Arts in 1993, integrating psychology, energy work, counseling and the arts to help individuals overcome trauma, and achieve optimal well-being. Joy is an award-winning singer /songwriter and sound healer, whose music plays a central role in her healing practices. Her journey has been deeply influenced by her training with Native American Shamans and Medicine Women who assisted her to reclaim her voice and spiritual path. Joy serves as the Dean of both the Advanced Studies program at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing Science in Florida, and is also the Dean of their New York school, mentoring the next generation of healers. She has lead her musical group The Souls Of Evolution, in musical healing events-and albums, and continues leading spiritual musical retreats to ancient sites in Europe. Her work combines her vast experience of energy healing, sound therapy and education, offering transformative experiences through music and teaching. Joy’s commitment to healing extends beyond her practice, as she shares her knowledge through workshops, writings, upcoming books, and 6 albums, helping others reclaim their paths and voices.
In addition to graduating from Brennan, Yoga teacher training, programs on early-childhood psychology, Core Energetics and Ayurvedic School, Joy is a graduate of the Sage Colleges with a degree in Mass Media Communications. In 1997, she began her career as a television anchor on a Holistic News Cable program, as well as becoming cable television host on series featuring guests that she interviewed regarding music for healing, and holistic health modalities. Joy was also a featured radio guest on various programs for years. She is the recipient of two lifetime achievement awards. She is excited about once again joining forces with Dan Zavadil to share interviews of friends and colleagues with the world-on their podcast- who offer both music for healing as well as healing and wellness modalities to enlighten a new era of listeners.
A lifelong musician, Dan Zavadil discovered that speaking through music allowed for a deeper connection with others. Dan took a step back from music in order to further explore the depths of human connection by becoming a massage therapist. During his massage training, He was a student of Joy Adler’s Wellness and Emotional Growth class. Dan saw that Joy ‘walked the talk’ when it came to using one’s own creative gifts as a guide to personal healing. Under Joy’s mentorship and training, Dan began assisting Joy with her Energy Diagnostics program. The classroom proved to be so successful that in 2015 they launched the first Energy Diagnostics Teleclass.
After several years of practicing massage and teaching with Joy, Dan felt the call to return to music. Bringing with him the wisdom from his own healing, he took the risk to step back on stage. In addition to recording on multiple albums, completing several US tours and opening for platinum selling artists, he found a new love for his role as a bassist. Providing the musical foundation has allowed the artists he’s supported to achieve successes on the Billboard Charts, MTV, and multiple TV & radio appearances. Dan is thrilled to be back behind the mic with Joy for the Energy Diagnostics Podcast. He feels their shared kinship of music & healing combined with a guest list of world class talent, will provide listeners with useful tools and takeaways to provide support for their healing.
